First up is the write-up and review by Vincent Laforet here. In short, he loves it but still doesn’t consider it an “A” camera because of it’s sensor size. He says he likes it’s limitations and somehow thinks it adds to the filmic look that he has been getting with it.
Here we have a video review along with some sample footage by Rick Young of moviemachine.tv I highly recommend this video because he covers the operation of the camera in it’s basic package with a variety of lenses and shows some sample footage from the camera as well. He’s shooting straight out of the box with Canon glass on a tripod like 90% of the other users probably will be. No crazy matteboxes or expensive rigs.
Finally, OneRiverMedia put some wide-angle lenses on the Blackmagic along with a 7D and 5D MK II to compare to prove that it really can shoot wide.
